# How To Import An Existing Wallet Into Meteor Wallet

1. The first step depends if you are adding a wallet to Meteor or you're starting from scratch:<br>

   If you already have a wallet in Meteor and are simply adding a new one, then navigate to the hamburger menu in the top left and click ‘Add Wallet’.
2. To import a new wallet, you’ll first need to enter your password.
3. You then have two options to choose from to import your wallet into Meteor.

**Option A** - Enter your secret recovery phrase.

**Option B** - Enter the private key to your account.\
\
Let’s go through each option.\
\
**Option A**\
\
You can enter your secret recovery phrase from wherever you have stored it securely. Then click ‘Find my account’.\
\
You’ll then be presented with the name of the wallet. Click the name of the wallet to finish importing.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.meteorwallet.app/how-to-import-an-existing-wallet-into-meteor-wallet.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
